Pass Plus is a training course specifically aimed at new drivers. Statistics show that new drivers are more likely to have an accident in the first two years of passing their test due to a lack of driving experience - this is where Pass Plus comes in! The course aims to build upon your newly acquired driving skills and knowledge.

What is Pass Plus?

Pass Plus was designed by the (DSA) Driving Standards Agency with help from some insurers and also the driving instruction industry, Pass Plus will help you to build upon your existing driving knowledge and skills. It will also teach you how to anticipate, plan and deal with all kinds of hazards you may have not tried before and can help you to become much more confident driver on the roads.

Pass Plus is made up of six practical modules which include:

Anyone who is a full UK licence holder can then take part in the Pass Plus scheme. There is no test at the end of the course but you will be continually assessed by your instructor as you go. And you must successfully complete all of the six modules in the course to an achieved or exceeded standard.

How much does Pass Plus cost?

Fees for the Pass Plus course will vary depending on how many hours you need to cover all the areas. You should bear in mind that the course will take a minimum of six hours, if more sessions are needed for you to successfully complete the course, this may add to the cost.

When you have successfully completed the Pass Plus course, you are advised to check for available discounts offered by lots of insurance companies taking part in the Pass Plus scheme. The amount of money that you save will depend on the company you choose, you may in many cases even save more than you paid for the course.
